Ce dernier, journaliste et romancier belge, y relate sa relation avec le peintre et le rôle de mentor que Dali exerça auprès de lui lorsqu'il était marchand d'art et voisin du célèbre artiste. L'histoire se situe durant les dernières années de la vie de l'artiste, des années 60 aux années 80.
