L'histoire du film ne brille pas par son génie, mélangeant espionnage sur fond de tournoi d'arts martiaux, et sert de prétexte à une succession d'empoignades plus ou moins variées opposant des combattants aux styles différents. Cette trame servira par ailleurs de matrice à bon nombre de jeux de combats, que ce soit Tekken (avec sa copie conforme de Bruce Lee) ou bien encore Dead or Alive (avec sa copie conforme de Pamela Anderson). En même temps on ne vient pas voir ce genre de film pour son histoire mes pour admirer un maximum de combats plus spectaculaires les uns que les autres. Et avec Bruce Lee en tête d'affiche le contrat peut facilement être rempli.
